Christopher Nyberg

Christopher M. Nyberg focuses on medical malpractice and personal injury cases, with a particular focus on cases involving birth injuries, failure to diagnose cancer/stroke, neurologically impaired infants, and obstetrical malpractice.

Chris joined the firm in 2009, having previously worked as an Associate for Hunton & Williams, L.L.P., handling corporate, litigation, and bankruptcy matters. He also previously worked as a law clerk at the Law Office of Baron & Goodsell assisting in trusts and estates and real estate matters.

Chris handles cases from intake to trial, has written and argued numerous appeals, has successfully defeated numerous summary judgment motions, has successfully won numerous motions for late notices of claim, and has successfully negotiated and/or tried several cases to successful outcomes, successes including settling over 100 cases, worth over $125 million, involving children injured at birth, stillborn births, children who died shortly after birth due to injuries sustained during their birth and delivery process, women who died shortly after giving birth to their children, failure to timely diagnose cervical cancer, a failure to monitor swallowing on a former premature baby resulting in aspiration and brain injury, a failure to properly monitor a young patient following spinal surgery, a failure to prevent a preterm birth by performing a cervical cerclage, failing to monitor a patient for stroke following a hysterectomy, and a failure to properly monitor the lead levels of a young child, and obtaining a verdict on a failure to properly treat a patient with Sickle Cell Disease, among numerous other successes.

Chris received his Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and Economics from Saint Joseph’s University, where he graduated summa cum laude and received the Law Alumni Award as a graduate with the highest GPA among those enrolling in a law school. He graduated from the Boston University School of Law, where he received the Dean’s Scholarship, graduated magna cum laude, and received the Peter Bennett Award (highest GPA among 3rd-year law students). During law school, he served as a Rule 3:03 law student advocate as part of the Boston University Civil Litigation Clinic and Shelter Legal Services, where he represented low-income individuals in cases involving unemployment benefits, government benefits, divorce, eviction, and other matters.

Chris is a member of the New York and New Jersey State Bars. He is a member of the New York State Trial Lawyers Association (NYSTLA), and American Association for Justice (AAJ), where he is also a member of the Birth Trauma Litigation Group (BTLG).

Chris is a long term resident of Queens County, where has resided for 13 years, and where he lives with his wife and two young children. In serving his community of Queens, he serves as a member of the Queens County Bar Association, has and is been a member of the vestry and/or numerous committees of his local church, and is a Den Leader at his local Boy Scout Troop.
