BUFFALO, NEW YORK — Antonio Pizarro passed away in the morning hours on Saturday, July Fourth inside the Erie County Holding Center. The accused were arraigned yesterday on felony charges of Murder in the Second Degree.
Nadia Pizarro, the mother of Antonio Pizarro, provided the following statement in response to the arraignments of Chico Garcia and Skyler J. Gill in Erie County Court on June 16, 2026.
“I will never stop fighting for justice for my son Antonio, until all those responsible for his death are held accountable.”
Out of respect for Antonio Pizarro's memory, Ms. Pizarro respectfully requests that media allow her privacy and space to grieve. Other than the statement above, she does not wish to be contacted.
Ms. Pizarro has hired attorney Jaehyun Oh, Partner at The Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Firm (3 Park Ave, 37th Floor, Manhattan), and John V. Elmore, P.C. (2969 Main Street, Buffalo) to further investigate the circumstances surrounding the death of her son Antonio.
Attorney Oh stated, "A prison sentence should never be a death sentence. The family deserves answers, and we look forward to an immediate and transparent investigation into the circumstances leading to this tragedy."
