In this case, we represented a man whose doctor had failed to properly monitor his PSA and failed to refer him to a urologist for assessment and a needed biopsy. The man learned that he had prostate cancer and, due to the doctor's inactions, his cancer stage was higher than it would have been with early detection and diagnosis. In addition, the doctor's failure to diagnose the cancer sooner led to an increased likelihood of morbidity.
