Hardeep Shergill

Hardeep Shergill joined the Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Firm in 2023 as an Associate Attorney, where she focuses on civil rights and medical malpractice litigation. She represents survivors of sexual assault, including victims of medical sexual abuse, and advocates for individuals and families harmed by serious medical negligence. Her practice includes representing clients who have suffered catastrophic injuries due to malpractice, including amputations, paralysis, and wrongful death.

Before joining the firm, Hardeep spent five years with the Legal Aid Society’s Juvenile Rights Practice, where she represented children in abuse and neglect proceedings in Family Court. In that role, she advocated for vulnerable youth in cases involving the Administration for Children’s Services (ACS), ensuring that her clients’ voices were heard in high-stakes proceedings that profoundly impacted their lives. Much of her work involved representing children from underserved communities—particularly Black and Brown families—who often face systemic barriers to meaningful legal representation.
Hardeep earned her B.A. from Baruch College, CUNY, and her J.D. from CUNY School of Law in 2017 with a partial scholarship. While at CUNY School of Law, she focused on public interest law and developed a commitment to representing historically marginalized communities.

At the Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Firm, Hardeep works to hold institutions and medical providers accountable when their misconduct or negligence causes serious harm. She contributes to the firm’s civil rights and medical malpractice practice and helps expand its groundbreaking sexual assault litigation, advocating for survivors and seeking justice in complex and deeply impactful cases.
Hardeep completed law school while raising two young children, giving birth to her youngest during her studies. Outside of her legal practice, she enjoys spending time with her children, running, traveling, and reading.

Originally from India, Hardeep is fluent in Punjabi and also understands Hindi and Urdu.
