September 11th Victims Compensation Fund
World Trade Center Victims
The events of September 11, 2001, are forever etched in our collective memory. The sight of the Twin Towers, with plumes of smoke coming from gaping holes, and then crumbling before our eyes, changed the course of American history and world politics.
“An untold number of lives were shattered on that day. Thousands perished in the Towers, on the planes, to their heartbroken families, their losses were direct and felt immediately.”
– Alan Fuchsberg, World Trade Center Attorney, Jacob Fuchsberg Law Firm
As the years since 9/11 have come and gone, additional insidious consequences of 9/11 have come to light. Survivors of the disaster, people who worked on the site clean-up, and individuals who worked and lived near the Towers were diagnosed with horrific diseases like cancer and mesothelioma. For these people, the government has recently made it clear that they will pay for their health care costs indefinitely. Anyone who has grown ill as a result of working in or living near the Towers should seek out compensation so that they may pay for their medical bills.
The lawyers of the Jacob Fuchsberg Law Firm are very experienced WTC lawyers. They have handled over 500 cases involving individuals injured as a result of 9/11. What is the September 11th Victims Compensation Fund?
The September 11th Victims Compensation Fund (also called the Zadroga Fund) is a fund set up by the United States government to help individuals who are ill as a result of their exposure to the toxic dust and the debris from the World Trade Center. The Fund pays for the medical care of the ill person.
In order to get compensation under the Fund, you need to file a claim. Our experienced WTC attorneys can help you do just that.
What Illnesses Were Caused By 9/11?
Those who worked or lived near the World Trade Center, or downtown Manhattan, have been diagnosed with many different illnesses as a result of breathing in the toxic dust and compromised air near the WTC crash site. The following are just some of the many types of diseases that we are seeing in our recent cases involving the WTC.
Lung Conditions Caused By 9/11

Pulmonary function has also been compromised in a number of people. Incidents of sarcoidosis, which is a form of inflammation of the lungs, is also very common. In addition, thousands of individuals have developed interstitial lung disease, asbestosis, chronic sinusitis, chronic rhinitis, GERD, and sleep apnea.
Cancer Related To 9/11
Lymphoma, Leukemia, and Myeloma are just some of the cancers that our clients have developed as a result of living or working near the WTC. Many people have developed lung cancer and esophageal cancers; there have been many instances of colon, liver, and stomach cancers. Other rare cancers have also been identified as related to the debris of 9/11.
