Bradley Zimmerman

Chris Nyberg and Bradley Zimmerman of the Jacob Fuchsberg Law Firm proudly represented a mother of two who tragically passed away due to an obstetrician’s failure to properly respond to excessive bleeding during labor.

While rendering treatment to the Mother for a uterine rupture following the birth of her child, physicians failed to timely recognize the significance of the Mother’s continued bleeding.

Operating against protocol, physicians neglected to appropriately control the bleeding and administer a blood transfusion until hours after she experienced incessant bleeding.

Additionally, the anesthesiologist attending to our client misplaced the endotracheal tube, which is used in conjunction with a ventilator to help patients breathe during emergencies.

As a result of this reckless failure, our client did not receive the necessary ventilation she deserved.

During and following labor, which is one of the most vulnerable positions for a mother to be in, our client lost over 50% of her blood, putting her body under considerable stress and triggering a cardiac arrest.

The combined effect of the massive hemorrhage and the anesthesiologist’s failure to resuscitate and properly ventilate our client resulted in the complete shutdown of her most vital organs, including her brain.

She became comatose and tragically passed a few weeks later.

The Jacob Fuchsberg Law Firm obtained experts in obstetrics, maternal-fetal medicine, anesthesiology, and an economist to hold the various defendants accountable for this preventable maternal death.
Had the physicians followed the correct protocol timely performed a timely intervention to account for the mother’s blood loss, our client would have never experienced life-threatening complications.

Our birth injury attorneys vigorously questioned the responsible parties and uncovered the multiple devastating mistakes which wrongfully caused this young woman to lose her life, her husband to lose a wife, and her children, including the newborn, to lose their mother.

By the end of the litigation, the defendants recognized that there was absolutely no defense to what had occurred, acknowledging that their medical mishaps were the only cause of this tragedy.

With over forty years of experience litigating medical malpractice and birth injury, the Jacob Fuchsberg Law Firm is proud to help the families of such tragedies receive justice.

We can help when the unimaginable happens.
