Settlement in Near-Fatal Legionnaire’s Disease Case

Jae Oh and Alan Fuchsberg recently settled a case involving a man in his 70’s who contracted Legionnaires’ disease from a hospital he went to for cancer treatment. As a result of the infection, the client suffered a life-threatening case of Legionella pneumonia, causing approximately a year of pain and suffering until he passed away.

Jae brought a successful petition under the Freedom of Information Laws to obtain a critical set of records from the New York State Department of Health, which allowed a satisfactory resolution of the lawsuit.
