Brad Zimmerman and Eli Fuchsberg Settle Case Where Patient Aftercare was Mismanaged
Compensation: Undisclosed
Managing Partner Brad Zimmerman and Attorney Eli Fuchsberg recently settled a case on behalf of a family whose mother and grandmother passed away due to negligent post-operative care. The woman underwent mitral valve replacement surgery, and her anti-coagulation care (to prevent clotting) was mismanaged. The hospital failed to timely diagnose and treat the patient’s Heparin-induced Thrombocytopenia (low platelet count condition), and the hospital failed to prevent the development of a stage IV bedsore. These were all circumstances that could have been avoided with proper and timely medical care.
