Since 9/11, many thousands of first and second responders have developed cancer due to the toxic air at the World Trade Center and its related debris. This past month, we lost two heroes who responded to the crisis. Thomas Phelan was working as a ferry captain during and after the World Trade Center bombing and helped rescue many people. He passed away on March 16th at age 45. And just this week, FBI Special Agent Melissa Morrow died of brain cancer related to her work recovering and processing evidence taken from the bombings. We mourn these losses and extend our most heartfelt sympathy to the families of these two brave and heroic individuals. We have been working with hundreds of clients on cases related to the 9/11 attacks. Many of these individuals have developed cancer as a result of their work and exposure to the debris and air surrounding the World Trade Center. Please call us at 212-869-3500 if you have any questions regarding these cases, or if you feel that you have had a similar experience and wish to pursue recovery under the Victim’s Compensation Fund.
