Representing Patients Suffering Side Effects From Seroquel
The Food and Drug Administration approved Seroquel for treatment of schizophrenia in 1997, and for bipolar disorder in 2004.
The drug has been manufactured and marketed by the pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca. The drug has been used off-label to treat:

- post traumatic stress disorder
- restless leg syndrome
- autism
- alcoholism
- depression
- sleep disorders
- anxiety disorders
Seroquel has been associated with an increased risk of diabetes, with adverse incidents including pancreatitis, tardive dyskinesia and death. Lawsuits have been filed against AstraZeneca contending that the drug was marketed for off-label use without approval by the FDA for those intended uses or a determination of safety.
