Fosamax
Representing Patients Suffering Side Effects From Fosamax
Merck and Co. is the manufacturer of the drug Fosamax, also known as alendronate sodium, which has been used to treat patients suffering from osteoporosis (decreased bone density).
Fosamax, a bisphosphonate, limits bone loss by slowing the breakdown of old or damaged bone. Fosamax has now been linked to osteonecrosis of the jaw (jaw death), osteomylitis, and jaw splintering and subtrochanteric femur fractures. In litigation the plaintiffs contend Merck and Co., knew or should have known about the dangerous effect of the drug and failed to warn physicians.
