Burn Injury
Compassionate Advocates For Burn Injury Victims
When a member of your family suffers a third-degree burn, the effects are often felt for a long time. A severe burn is not only a painful injury, it is one that causes a number of lifelong physical and mental health consequences. Scarred skin tissue is not only painful and deforming, but can lead to poor circulation and increased exposure to disease.
At the Jacob Fuchsberg Law Firm, we have extensive experience acting as advocates for those who were injured due to the negligence or error of others. In the case of a burn injury, the injury can be due to employer negligence, landlord or homeowner negligence, a product defect or medical malpractice in the treatment of the burn.
We have handled substantial burn injury cases resulting from scalding water, explosive and flammable liquids, and fires. Common burn injuries include:
- Skin grafting
- Keloidal scarring
- Lung and pulmonary damage
- Amputations due to loss of blood circulation
- Exposure to infection
- Emotional trauma
When people think of burns, they typically think of fire or explosion and rarely think of water. However, an approximately one second exposure to 160° F water will result in third- degree burns. Plumbing in homes and public buildings should have a threshold of 125° F, a temperature at which it will take approximately 10 minutes of exposure to create a third- degree burn.
Please contact our attorneys if you or a loved one has a serious or disfiguring burn due to any of the following causes:
- Scalding water
- Flammable solvent
- Flash fire
- Construction site or other explosion
- Auto accident gasoline fire
- Improper warning label or product usage instructions
- Defective hot water heaters or bad regulators
