History
Protecting The Rights Of Individuals For Three Generations
In the 1920s, one of our founding fathers, Henry E. Cohen, became one of the first lawyers in the country to represent individuals injured in accidents. His son-in-law, Jacob D. Fuchsberg, continued in this practice and joined him in forming Cohen & Fuchsberg. Jack Fuchsberg expanded the firm to represent even more of the legal issues that affect individuals, families, and communities.
Taking the lead from Henry Cohen, Jack Fuchsberg became one of the most influential and outstanding trial lawyers in America. While in private practice, he was the first lawyer to win a personal injury verdict of over $1 million. His reputation for excellence continued when he was a Judge on the Court of Appeals, New York’s highest court. He was praised particularly for championing individual rights. He served in this capacity for nine years, and in 1983, founded our current firm.
