For over 30 years, Rosalind Fuchsberg Kaufman has earned significant recognition as a highly respected and skilled trial lawyer known nationally for her work on behalf of victims. Her primary areas of concentration include catastrophic motor vehicle cases, medical malpractice lawsuits, premises liability and actions based on faulty care given in nursing homes. She has also handled domestic abuse cases and toxic contamination cases.

LEADERSHIP ACTIVITIES
Ms. Kaufman carries on the Fuchsberg family legacy in her commitment to advancing the legal profession through education and in her involvement in two legal services organizations, one providing free legal services to indigent persons and one advancing legal rights nationally. She has given training seminars to young lawyers and has made television appearances on legal subjects. She actively participates in many professional and civic organizations.

SIGNIFICANT CASES
Maharam v. Maharam established an innocent spouse’s right to know if a husband/wife is infected with a sexually transmitted disease. In this case, the wife was awarded $750,000 in compensatory and punitive damages from her husband because he transmitted his disease to her.
